R. Wolf (1919-1989) Rudolf Wolf (December 1, 1919, Amsterdam) studied drawing, advertising and architecture. After a brief stint at various architectural firms, Wolf concentrated on furniture design in the mid-1950s. Wolf designed series of furniture for various manufacturers. For his club chair 'Gamma' from the Meander series of the company Van Gaasbeek-Van Tiel, Wolf received the International Design Award of the American Institute of Interior Designers in 1964. In the wake of this award, an exhibition of Wolf's work was organized in America. Wolf called himself an architect, an industrial designer and a "constructivist. He was a versatile designer. Over the years, he designed stands, interiors, mopeds, cars, packaging, stationery and even furnaces. In the second half of the 1960s, Wolf collaborated with Dane Bo Bonfils in the firm Transign. In the 1970s and 1980s, he stepped out more as a visual artist making steel and aluminum objects. Rudolf Wolf died on October 7, 1989 in Amstelveen. Note: the oeuvre of R.
