J. Dunnebier Jacob Dunnebier is born in Breukelen in 1904. After training as an architect, he settles independently in Amsterdam. Before World War II, he designs, among other things, a branch on Linnaeusstraat for department store HEMA with characteristics of the Amsterdam School and New Objectivity. In the period 1934-1939 he was able to realize a number of residential buildings on Amsterdam's Westerstraat, which were placed on the monument list by the City of Amsterdam in 2006. After World War II, he is employed by the municipality of Amsterdam for the purpose of reconstruction. Later he entered into a partnership with architect Ronstadt. Under the name "Dunnebier & Ronstadt, buro voor architectuur en stedebouw," the pair realized the motel-restaurant-conference resort "Residence" in Vinkeveen, housing for the elderly in Gouda, and social housing on Lijnbaansgracht and Anjeliersstraat in Amsterdam. Restoration, renovation and reconstruction are Dunnebier & Ronstadt's specialties. In Gouda, they are restoring a seventeenth-century monastery, which then provides housing for young people. In Amsterdam, they are restoring several monumental buildings, both on the Oude Schans, on the Leidse Gracht and Raamstraat and on the Egelantiersgracht. In the Amsterdam Jordaan area, the architects renovate the so-called 'Berro complex' and at the St. Antoniesluis they realize the reconstruction of several monumental buildings and the so-called 'Leprozenpoortje'. J . Dunnebier dies in Amsterdam in 1988. NB: J. Dunnebier's oeuvre has not been (completely) inventoried.
