E. Breman Evert Breman (1859-1926) was a well-known architect in Amsterdam. His buildings included the Rembrandt Theater on Rembrandt Square and the Lloyd Hotel on the Oostelijke Handelskade. In 1895, he was the chief architect of the World Exhibition for the Hotel and Travel Industry. A complete miniature village "Old Holland" was built on a large site behind the Rijksmuseum, with sixteenth- and seventeenth-century facades from a variety of Dutch cities. The main building of this exhibition featured paintings by Evert's younger brother, the painter Co Breman (1865-1938).
