J.C.L.B. Pet Jan Cornelis Louis Bernard Pet received his doctorate from the TH in Delft in 1940 with the thesis Price and value of urban building land. Pet was involved in the reconstruction of Rotterdam after World War II. He carried out urban planning work for the United Nations in the Far East (China, Japan, Indonesia). In 1957 he was appointed head of the urban planning department of the Apeldoorn municipal works department, and in 1960 he became technical advisor to the government of Suriname.
