Rotterdam Art Foundation
The Rotterdam Art Foundation (RKS), founded in 1974, has been developing activities in the field of architecture and urban planning of the twentieth-century Western city, Rotterdam in particular, since 1978. To this end, the architecture section of the RKS organized (and continues to organize) exhibitions, research and design commissions, conferences, competitions and publications. In this way, the architecture section aimed to introduce international developments and stimulate debate on architecture and urban planning.
From 1982 the activities took place under the name 'Architecture International Rotterdam (AIR)', following the successful events Film International and Poetry International, also organized by the RKS.
