Röntgen, Julius Engelbert
Julius Engelbert Röntgen (Leipzig, May 9, 1855 - Utrecht, September 13, 1932) was a Dutch-German composer, pianist and conductor.
Villa Gaudeamus
In 1924 Röntgen, almost 70 years old, retired from the Conservatory. He retired to the Villa Gaudeamus in Bilthoven, designed by his son Frants in the style of the Amsterdam School. The music hall, made entirely of wood, "floats" as it were above the ground.
