The Federation 'O' and its predecessor the Permanent Consultation In 1966, the BNA decides to hold regular consultations with the ONRI. The following year the idea arises to cooperate with ONRI, BNT and BNS, because they can feel connected by the creative task of their members in the realization of the human environment and by the kinship of the social form of professional practice. They also want to achieve a common magazine, into which the Bouwkundig Weekblad would merge. From this idea the Permanent Consultation emerges in 1968, in which GKf (later BNI) and KIO also participate. All this leads to the creation of the magazine PLAN (1970). From the Permanent Consultation emerges the Federation 'O', which is founded on May 8, 1974. BNA, BNS, BNT, BNI, ONRI and KIO participate in it. The aim of the Federation is the joint promotion of the interests of its member organizations, whereby the Federation puts the social responsibility with regard to the creation and maintenance of a liveable living environment first. The Federation consists of the Federation Council, whose task is to formulate general policy, and the Federation Board, which is elected from the Federation Council. Federation 'O' has various working groups, participates in committees, organizes study days and publishes. The Federation publishes, among various other publications, the 'Yearbook Federation 'O' (with data on agencies and designers) and the bulletin Information 'O', the publication of which ceased in 1981. The Federation organizes study days and various subjects are discussed and studied within working groups. As a representative of the various disciplines, the Federation is intensively involved in the creation of the Title Act. It is also concerned with the position of the designer and increasing market opportunities for member disciplines. Since 1981 she has been intensively involved in the Action Program for Cheaper Construction of the Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment. The Action Program is an activity of the Directorate General of Public Housing. 'Goedkoper Bouwen' has a presidium and 5 coordination groups. These work out options, and present them as recommendations to the Presidium and to the participating organizations. Furthermore, the Federation deals with subjects such as land cost systematics, the Habitat project, building regulations and assignment portfolio, employment, increasing market opportunities, position of the designer, harmonization of the rules of conduct of the participating associations and the like. From 1988, the Federation put more emphasis on the quality of professional practice and the strengthening of mutual contacts between the professional groups, where until then the emphasis was mainly on common interest representation. As of 1990, Federation Council and Board consist of the same people (one board member per member association).
