CV Art historian who received his doctorate in 1988 on Industrial designer W.H. Gispen (1890-1981), a modern eclectic, and was attached to Leiden University as a lecturer until 2013. Koch initiated an exhibition on Gispen at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and at the Haags Gemeentemuseum and initiated the exhibition "Lighting" at the Kunsthal Rotterdam on electric home lighting. Edited the accompanying book. Consultant for the Stadsmuseum Zoetermeer and board member of the Gispen Collection Foundation. Current work Retired associate professor at the School of Art History of the Faculty of Humanities, Leiden. Researches the popular housing culture in the Netherlands of the 1950s, more specifically that part referred to by Goed Wonen as "wansmaak van het moderne.
