The piece is about the poor functioning of Architectura et Amicitia. In 1931 Staal becomes board member, further in that board are: honorary chairman: Berlage; chairman: De Meyer, Blaauw; vice-chairman: Boeyinga, Bruin; secretary: Zietsma, Zwiers; second secretary: Hartman, Zietsma; treasurer: Vorkink; member: Wimer, Hartman and A. Staal. In 1932 Staal is still on the board. At the 1932 membership meeting, A et A narrowly escapes being taken over by Staal and his supporters who disagree with the Society's current policies. This group subsequently withdraws as Group'32; Staal's fellow board members are greatly outraged by his actions. At the 1932 membership meeting, Boeken and Staal again make a grab for power, but their proposal to replace the entire board does not receive a majority.
