Date published 19/26-07-1955. In this article, the author, architect J.W.C. Boks, describes the Delta Hotel, designed by himself (photos exterior, photos interior, situational drawing, facade views, floor plans) in Vlaardingen. The hotel on the Maasboulevard partly stands with its foundations in the river, so that a fantastic view is obtained. The initiative for the realization of the hotel was taken by the Mayor of Vlaardingen. Contractor N.V. Bouw- en Aannemingsbedrijf van Omme & de Groot from Rotterdam began work in November 1953 and the building was festively opened on March 31, 1955. Also cooperating were structural engineer A. Aronsohn for the concrete skeleton and interior architect C.L.W. Wirtz acted as advisor for the interior and designed much of the inventory.
