International Exhibition to be held at San Francisco, California, in 1914. Architect J.A. Mooyen of Batavia and the Nederlandsch-Indische Kunstkring urge the Dutch government not to proceed with their plan of a copy of the Town Hall at Gouda as the pavilion of the Dutch section, and proposes to seek agreement of B.N.A., Genootschap A et A and Maatschappij B der B. The Central Commission for the Exhibition at San Francisco is established on June 20, 1913 and invites boards of three societies on June 21, 1913. Van Coenen Torchiana is government commissioner at San Francisco. Central Commission invites three architects to submit a design: Ed. Cuypers (designed Indian section at the Brussels Exposition 1910), W. Kromhout (designed Dutch pavilion at the Brussels Exposition 1910), Joh. Mutters Jr. (designed Dutch section at the Paris Exposition 1900 and Roubaix). At the request of the committee, the three associations invited six more architects: Alb. Otten of Rotterdam, J. Limburg of The Hague, H.J.M. Walenkamp of Amsterdam, Jan de Meijer of Amsterdam, D. Roosenburg of The Hague, H.A. de Reus of Dordrecht. H.P. Berlage and K.P.C. De Bazel thanked. M.J.E. Lippits, J.J. Gort, J.H. de Graats, J.D. Laagen, G.J. Rutgers and A.P. Smits are not chosen for participation. A. Salm of Amsterdam is a competition juror on behalf of Maatschappij B der B. J.H. de Groot is a competition juror on behalf of Genootschap A et A. Joh. Ingenohl is a competition juror on behalf of B.N.A. J. Gratama is a substitute juror for A. Salm. H.P. Berlage and J.M. van der Mey are alternate jurors for J.H. de Groot.
