The authors analyze a view house of an apartment building in Osdorp, Amsterdam-West (architect J.P.Kloos). Features of this apartment building include a suspended walkway for the fourth/fifth floor and an open spacious floor plan with flexible elements. According to the authors, the layout of the viewing apartment only partially fulfills the architect's intentions. For example, while the open character of the living area is reasonably maintained, the closed door to the living room does not rhyme with the adjacent glass wall. Also, the dining table in the dining area takes up too much space. In the bedrooms, the emphasis on privacy is sometimes so strong that the contact between inside and outside is broken such as by placing a bulkhead in front of the window and hanging curtains in front of the doors.
