An open model of the residence of the Dutch ambassador with situation markings. The model has a detailed exterior and interior. The building is situated in a tree-lined setting, where garden and residence merge naturally. The building consists of a tall, slender and roofed section and a meandering low-rise building. It has two main functions, which Coenen clearly separated: it is both official residence and representative reception space for the representative of the kingdom. On the first floor, the entrance hall forms the fulcrum between the two parts. The hall opens up the representative part, the private living quarters, the guest quarters and the staff rooms. The representative part extends from the entrance to the terrace to the garden. To the right, in addition to the large salon and dining room, lies the kitchen and serving area. Salon and dining room are next to each other and, for large receptions, can be linked. From the street the two spaces are not directly visible, towards the garden they have a beautiful view. The facade is transparent and covered with white-painted wooden slats to exclude sunlight.The facades should express the two-part function of the ambassador's residence, which, according to the brief, has "both a representative, open and hospitable and a homely and secure character. According to Coenen, the security of the living area is expressed in the curved and closed facade on the left side, which "embraces" the three living floors.
