Wormser, Jacobus Philippus

Jacobus Philippus Wormser was born in Amsterdam in 1878. After elementary school, he attended the main course for structural engineers at the Kunstnijverheid- en Teekenschool Quellinus in Amsterdam. He worked at various architectural firms, including B.J. Ouëndag, K.P.C. de Bazel and H.P. Berlage. In the period before 1905, he was an independent architect and decorative artist in Amsterdam. He became an outside member of the society Architectura et Amicitia in 1896 and installed as an ordinary member in 1903. Around 1905 he moved to Hilversum. After ending his collaboration with Vorkink, in 1925, Wormser worked as an architect in Hilversum for several more years. He died in 1935 in Amersfoort, after suffering from an incurable illness for several years. Vorkink and Wormser worked together from about 1905 to about 1925.
