Ferdinand Bernardus Jantzen (Amsterdam, June 29, 1895 - Ede, August 25, 1987) was a Dutch architect of Protestant churches. Biography After various technical and artistic studies, he graduated in 1920, after which he worked in architectural offices, including those of Christiaan Posthumus Meyjes Sr. and of Eduard Cuypers. In 1922, he started his own architectural firm. He designed brick church buildings, initially in the style of expressionism, akin to the Amsterdam School. From the end of the 1930s he took a more traditionalist direction, which after World War II took on more and more modernist features. From the late 1950s his work became more and more functionalist in nature. In addition to churches, Jantzen also designed church furniture. In addition, he restored a number of churches. Jantzen's work is found mainly, but not exclusively, in the western part of the Netherlands.
