A.J.J. Verspoor (1887-1967) Adolf Jacobus Johannes Verspoor was born in 1887. He worked in the years 1902-1903 as an apprentice draughtsman with B. Schelling in Delft. In 1907 he was employed as supervisor-draughtsman with P. Kleiweg Dyserinck in Haarlem. In the following years Verspoor worked in Tilburg. First as architectural draftsman with F.C. de Beer and Jos. Donders (resp.1908-1910 and 1910-1911), then as supervisor-draughtsman with the Corps of Engineers (1910-1912). From 1913 Verspoor worked as superintendent-draughtsman at Gemeentewerken in Leiden (1913-1914) and The Hague (1914-1919). After this he established himself as an independent architect.
