ir. H. Salm (1922-2011) Harry Salm was born on August 18, 1922. In 1951 he received his Civil Engineering degree from TH Delft. He then left for America, where he received his degree from Columbia University in New York in 1953. Until 1954 he worked at various firms in New York and Los Angeles. In 1954 he returned to the Netherlands and joined architectural firm De Vlaming. In 1957, Salm became a partner. In addition to designing, Salm was responsible for publicity at the firm. In 1984, Salm established his own office in Amstelveen, but also continued to work at VSF in Utrecht. In 1987 Salm stopped working for VSF, but continued his work in Amstelveen. Salm was a member of the KIVI. He was founder and vice-president of the 'Construction' section of this organization. Salm was also a member of the BNA. For the BNA, Salm was a member of the Ned. Commission UIA, secretary of the Amsterdam Circle for 6 years and chairman of the jury of the Van Eck Prize in 1980. In 1970, Salm became secretary of the Kring Roosenburg. From 1972-1978 he was chairman and member of the Central Consultative Group Foundation Opbouw Org. Amstelland and Meerlanden (SOAM). From 1984-1989, Salm was a member of the building standards committee in Lelystad and from 1985-1990 a member of the building standards committee in Amstelveen. From 1975-1980 Salm worked as a guest lecturer with Prof. J.A. Lucas at TH Delft.
