State Building Department
Government buildings department
As already reported, the Council of Ministers recently decided to designate the Buildings Department at the Ministry of Finance as the central point where all data on available space and on the current use of government and government-rented buildings will be collected and where requests for space will be received, assessed and answered.
It has now been decided in principle to only suspend construction, reconstruction, purchase or new rent, even if the necessary funds have already been granted. If any department considers suspension impossible, this will be brought to the attention of the Department of Finance, which will give its advice within a certain period of time. If the advice cannot be approved, the Council of Ministers decides. This rule applies as long as a more complete centralization of the Buildings Department has not been decided upon.
