B.T. Boeyinga After trade school, Berend Tobia Boeyinga (b. Noord-Scharwoude, 1886) went to work for various carpentry companies. In 1907 he received the diploma 'journeyman in carpentry'. From 1909 he attended courses at the newly established Academy of Architecture in Amsterdam, which he combined with a job as draftsman-supervisor at various architectural firms. From 1912 to 1917 his training was interrupted by work in Nijmegen and fulfilling military service, but in 1917 he resumed his education and went to work as an assistant architect in Michel de Klerk's office. After completing his education, Boeyinga worked at the Municipal Housing Service in Amsterdam from 1921 to 1926, after which he established himself as an independent architect in Amsterdam. In addition to his work as an architect, Boeyinga was also active as a board member for the Association of Dutch Architects (BNA) and the Academy of Architecture in Amsterdam. Boeyinga was especially significant as a builder of Reformed churches. He was also involved in restorations of churches, including the Eusebius Church in Arnhem. The archive also contains an entry for the competition for the Amsterdam Town Hall in 1936 and designs for buildings of the Free University. His style was a combination of traditionalism and elements of the Amsterdam School. In recent years Boeyinga was mainly active administratively. Boeyinga died in 1969.
