Meier, Richard
Richard Meier (Newark (New Jersey), October 12, 1934) is an American architect of the second half of the 20th century who is best known for his use of the color white. In the Netherlands, he is best known for his design for The Hague City Hall ("the IJ Palace"), completed in 1995. He is also a visual artist (collages), sculptor and designer of furniture and utensils, such as tableware and glass, among other things.
In 1957, he earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University. In 1984, he received the Pritzker Prize.
