Architectenbureau Alberts en Van Huut is a Dutch architectural firm founded in 1963 and based in Amsterdam. The firm operates nationally and internationally in the fields of landscape, urban planning, architecture and interior design. The firm is best known for its design for the ING Bank headquarters in Amsterdam-Zuidoost and the design for the Gasunie headquarters in Groningen. Founding On April 1, 1963, Ton Alberts founded an architectural firm. In these first years, the office is mainly concerned with small assignments. From 1975 he is assisted by Max van Huut and in the late 1970s the firm receives its most important assignment: the design for the headquarters of the NMB-Bank in Amsterdam. In 1987, Max van Huut became a partner and the firm acquired its current name. Since 1993 the Haarlem-based Alberts, Van Huut and Partners has been working on the designs of Alberts & Van Huut. Ton Alberts dies in 1999 and the firm continues under the leadership of Van Huut. The firm's projects are diverse in nature, including churches, schools, town halls, sports centers, theaters, office buildings and many healthcare projects. Landscape and urban planning projects have also been realized. Style The firm creates designs in an organic style. This "style" has no typical style characteristics, but rather deals with a design attitude. Organic architecture aims to create beauty and harmony that enhance human well-being.
