Pieter Vorkink was born in Amsterdam in 1878. He received his first architectural education at the Industrieschool van de Werkende Stand in Amsterdam. He worked in various architectural offices, including with H.P. Berlage. In 1897, he became an ordinary member of Architectura et Amicitia. He would become very active in this society. From 1910 to 1926 he was a teacher in the architecture department of the School for Architecture, Decorative Arts and Crafts in Haarlem. In 1925 he was director, together with Blaauw and Verkruysen. After ending his collaboration with Wormser, Vorkink continued to work as an architect until about 1940. He moved to Roekel around 1940. He died in Ede in 1960. Vorkink and Wormser worked together from about 1905 to about 1925.
