Baanders, Herman Ambrosius Jan

H.A.J. Baanders (1876-1953) The brothers Herman A.J. Baanders (1876-1954) and Jan Baanders (1884-1966) were part of an Amsterdam architectural family whose founder was Herman Hendrik Baanders (1849-1905). The two brothers were responsible, among other things, for the Blue Tea House in the Vondelpark and country houses in Bloemendaal, Aerdenhout and the Gooi region. Both brothers worked much in the style of the Amsterdam School. Herman Ambrosius Jan Baanders was among others architect of the Amsterdam Lyceum (Valeriusplein, Amsterdam), the workshops of the Rotterdam Dry Dock Company (Rotterdam), the building of the Arnhem Society (Arnhem).
