Architectural firm Brinkman and Van der Vlugt was founded in 1925 by Johannes Andreas Brinkman (BRI2). After the death of his father Michiel Brinkman (BRI1) took over his firm and associated with Leendert Cornelis Van der Vlugt (VLUG). After Van der Vlugt's death in 1936, Brinkman associated with Johannes Hendrik van den Broek (BROE) in 1937 and the firm continued under the name Brinkman and Van den Broek (BRIB).
