J.A. Brinkman (1902-1949) Johannes Andreas (Jan) Brinkman was the son of Michiel Brinkman (1873-1925). After completing his studies in Delft, Brinkman associated with ir. L.C. van der Vlugt. After the latter's death in 1936, a collaboration with Prof. J.H. van den Broek came about, with architect Bakema also joining. In this way Brinkman was successively part of Brinkman & Van der Vlugt, Brinkman & Van den Broek, Brinkman, Van den Broek & Bakema.Important buildings by J.A. Brinkman are: the factory and office buildings of the Erven de Wed. J. van Nelle in Rotterdam, the Feijenoord stadium in Rotterdam, a grain silo on the Maashaven in Rotterdam, the building of the Theoofische vereniging in Amsterdam and a number of villas. Brinkman was part of several organizations and wrote several publications.
